How It Works

Make a Request

Request to have your items packed up. We coordinate with SCU to get access to your room.

We Pack Up

We pack up your room and provide free boxes, tape, and bubble wrap to ensure all your items are safe.

We Store or Ship

You can choose to store your items through our Bronco Storage service, or have them shipped home.

Safety and Security

No Need to Travel

You don’t need to physically be there, set up an appointment, or designate a proxy. We coordinate with SCU directly to get access to your dorm room.

Safety Is Our Priority

Our employees wear masks and gloves at all times. For the safety of our employees we ask that you are not present while we pack up your items.

Photo and Video Recording

During the pack up process we document each item with a photo and record the entire process on video to ensure items aren't misplaced or mishandled.

Separating Roommates Items

If you have a roommate that has not moved out, we will schedule a video conference with you to ensure we correctly distinguish your belongings.

Packing Supplies

We'll provide free boxes, tape, and bubble wrap to pack up all the items in your room. Any large items will be wrapped with furniture pads and handled with care.

Ship Items Home

We highly recommend storing items through our Bronco Storage service, but you may request to have some (or all) of your items shipped.

Bronco Storage has been providing the most convenient and affordable storage solution to Santa Clara University students for the past 20 years as independent company that is not affiliated with or controlled by Santa Clara University. Our storage service focuses on offering a very affordable service to SCU students. We only charge for what you store at a very low rate.

Storing Your Items

Once your items have been packed, you can choose to have them stored through our Bronco Storage service. When you return to Santa Clara we'll bring your items back to campus.

If you add the Drop Off Service, we'll deliver your items to your dorm room or off-campus residence when you return.

Shipping Your Items

On the request form, you must select you would like some or all of your items shipped. Once your items have been packed, we'll send you a link to view a photo of each item. You may request to have some (or all) of your items shipped. Then, we'll send you an estimate for the cost to ship the items requested.

FAQs

Packing Supplies

Will I get charged for boxes, tape or bubble wrap?

No, you will not be charged for any of those items; they come free with our pack up service. We will pack up the items in boxes as efficiently as possible to minimize your total costs, and we will use packing paper and bubble wrap when needed to protect your items.

What if some of my items don't fit in a box?

Items that are bigger than largest box (27x22x22 inches), can be stored and will be charged the bulk item rates.

Safety and Security

Do I need to be physically present to let you into my room?

No, you don’t need to physically be present as we have an agreement with SCU to provide access your room when you request the service.

Do I need to set up an appointment or designate a proxy?

No, we have an agreement with SCU to provide access your dorm room or neighborhood unit when you request the service. There is no need to designate us a proxy, and no need to make an appointment with SCU to access your dorm.

How will you determine my items from any of my roommates?

If any of your roommates still have items in your room, you will be asked to join a video call during the pack up session to let us know which items are yours vs. your roommates. Once you request the service, we will work with you to find a time that works best.

Packing Items

Is there a limit to how many items will be packed?

No. All items that are in your room will be packed (and/or shipped if requested) unless you tell us otherwise. There is a flat fee for the pack up service, but you will be charged monthly for each box stored. 

What will NOT be packed?

Items we will not pack include (but are not limited to):
• Perishable Items such as perishable food, plants, anything living, or anything subject to spoilage
• Illegal substances such as alcohol and drugs. 

Will you pack a mini-fridge or a microwave?

Yes, they both can be packed and stored at the medium bulk item rate.

Will you pack large items like a couch or other furniture?

Yes, large furniture items like a couch are stored at the large bulk item rate.

Any coverage available for items that may get damaged?

Although we take great care with all items, accidents do happen. Bronco Student Services will not process any payment for damages that is less than or equal to $200 per Customer. If the damages exceed $200, Bronco Student Services will pay damages of up to $1000 per Customer. Bronco Storage expressly disclaims any liability in excess of $1000 per Customer.

Can I ship some items and store others?

Yes! We can ship some items and store others.

We recommend only shipping your items back home only if you need those items, since s can be quite costly. Once all your items have been packed, you’ll be sent a link to view a photo of each item. You can request which items you would like shipped. We will then send you an estimate for the cost to ship items, and you can make the decision to ship those items or not.

How much will it cost to ship my items?

We recommend only shipping your items back home only if you need those items, since shipping can be quite costly. The price will vary depending on the size and weight of the items and where they need to be shipped to.

How long will it take to receive my items?

Once your items have been shipped it will take 3-6 days for your items to arrive. Express shipping is available for an additional cost. We will let you know the estimated delivery date for your items when we provide you an estimate for the price of shipping.

Getting Items Back

What if classes are held online during Fall quarter?

We will continue to store your items safety until you return. We would continue to be charged monthly for your items for as long as they are in storage. At any time you have the option to have some or all of your items shipped back to you.

I am studying abroad, can I pick up my items in January?

Yes! We offer storage for study abroad students. When you request the pack up service, you would indicate that you plan to study abroad. If your study abroad program gets cancelled, you may sign in to your account and change the return date of your items to an earlier date.

When will I be able to get my items?

When you request the service, you will indicate which date you would like to get your items back. After we receive your items, you may sign in to your account and change the return date of your items to an earlier date.

Pricing and Billing

Do you need or receive financial assistance?

Santa Clara University may be providing financial assistance through the CARES Act Relief program. Please contact the SCU Housing Department for more information at housing@scu.edu.

Does the Pack Up Service include Bronco Storage costs?

No. The pack up service is a flat fee of $275, and items stored will be charged the Bronco Storage monthly rates.

What if I choose to cancel the Pack Up Service?

There is a $20 cancellation fee, but you will be refunded the remaining amount as long as you cancel the pack up service at least 3 business days before your pack up date.

If you cancel the pack up service within 3 business days of your appointment, you will not be refunded. 

When will I be billed?

Upon making the pack up request you will immediately be charged for the pack up service.

After your items have been packed up, you will be charged the first month’s storage payment. You will be charged on the same day each month as the first monthly storage payment.

If you requested that you would like your items shipped. We will send you an estimate for the cost to ship items, and you can make the decision to ship those items. You will be charged for shipping one you agree to the shipping estimate.
