Frequently Asked Questions

How are the clothes washed?

Clothes are washed and folded through a professional third party laundromat. The laundromat uses Costco Kirkland Brand Laundry Detergent and Fabric Softener.

When does laundry start and end?

Laundry service starts on the second week of each school quarter and ends week 10.  We do not operate during finals week.

What time do you come by each dorm?

Laundry bags are picked up at 9 AM in the morning on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Bags are returned usually by 3 PM the following day. Pickup days for each dorm will be posted here in September.

Why should I trust this service to clean my clothes?

This service at Santa Clara University has been running since 2001 when it was beta-tested by students in Swig and gradually rolled out to the rest of campus. There have been no major issues to date.

Do I need to sign up again every quarter?

No. Quarterly subscriptions will be automatically renewed but may be cancelled at any time.

Do I need to label my bag?

Yes! Please make sure you label your bag or it will not be picked up. If there is no information on the bag, we won't know where to return it.

Do I need to close the bag all the way?

Yes!  If your laundry bag is not closed all the way (white loop closing 100%) you will be charged an automatic overstuffing fee of $20.

What if I find there are items missing however, or if my whole bag doesn’t show up the next day?

Each bag is insured up to $100 (or $300 on the yearly plan). Therefore, each time you drop off your laundry, if something was missing between the time you dropped off your bag in the lobby and the time it was returned to your door you would be reimbursed up to the amount that was insured. If you’ve looked everywhere and are absolutely positive that items are missing, please contact us directly.
